THE NIGHT SKY IS A PLACE WHERE THINGS GET LOST
Andrew Chenevert

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a series of mostly short poems whose first lines are lifted out of comic books even though the poems themselves have nothing to do with the comic books necessarily!

The poems of THE NIGHT SKY IS A PLACE WHERE THINGS GET LOST are universes unto themselves, running the gamut between outlandish, crass, soft and romantic. Told through a spectrum of voices stuck in a variety of bizarre situations, these flashbulb delineations join to examine the interplay between word and image while forming a quiet portrait of inner growth.

“Excelsior!”

—Stan Lee, numerous times, in reference  to things that are not this book

“I know a thing or two about the night sky and I have to say these poems really nail the fact that things get lost there. I’m Batman.”

—Batman

“Um, actually. Batman hardly ever says ‘I’m Batman.’”

—Someone on the internet, probably

“Are you serious? I’m in the middle of saving the world. I don’t have time to give a blurb for a poetry book. Get that notepad out of my face.”
